KGSR’s 18th season of Unplugged at the Grove kicked off last night with a performance by Sarah Jaffe, a singer/songwriter out of the north Texas town of Denton who broke out with last year’s album Suburban Nature. Her song “Clementine” has been on heavy rotation on KGSR for the past few months, and her ethereal voice proved just as gorgeous in person during her Unplugged at the Grove performance, which drew a standing-room-only crowd to Shady Grove.
The concert series includes a different performer every Thursday for the next 25 weeks. Be sure and check out local act Quiet Company on April 28. Bring a blanket to sit on, and get there at least an hour and a half before the 8 p.m. show time if you expect to find a seat. Drink specials include $3 Ziegenbock drafts and $3.50 frozen Jack and Cokes.
Here’s a live performance of Sarah Jaffe’s “Clementine” from last year.
