I’ve recently tried out three different shows on peacock. Here are my quick reviews of each.

I almost stopped watching this because the characters took the concept of moral bankruptcy to mountaineer heights. (One of them even shot a dog off-screen for no good reason. It was NOT important to the plot, and the whole dog subplot was forced-in and impossible to even follow.) But despite all that, the premise, writing and acting was really good. I couldn’t stop watching even though I wanted to. It was like a well-written train wreck. So even though I never condone animal violence in any form of entertainment (and there was a little too much people violence in this for me as well), this is my favorite show on peacock so far.

The characters in this show are much better people, (except that they’re all terrible drivers. I’ve lost track of how many car wrecks.) which is a huge plus. The writing, acting and plot is also phenomenal, and even a little funny. But just like the other show, it has some off-screen animal violence that disturbs me, including the eating of a pet bunny. But at least in this show, it’s actually important to the plot. But it’s a disturbing show on the people level, too. Because I can’t help but see the whole werewolf thing as a metaphor for an abusive relationship, since werewolves are so not real. And no one should be in a relationship where they fear for their life, while their partner constantly tells them they’re not responsible for their own actions. Gross. Despite that weirdness, the show still has a lot of heart, if you suspend disbelief.

I thought this would be my favorite of the bunch, but it’s turned out to be pretty mid. Everyone in this show is a terrible person who makes terrible decisions. And just like Pretty Little Liars, the whole plot would just stop if someone just called the cops like a sane person. Despite that, the characters are still somehow likable, but they keep doing the stupidest thing possible always. It’s like a train wreck with flowers, which I guess is kind of fun. And a dog gets shot in the head off-screen in the very first episode. It’s important to the plot, but just seems so unbelievable. And why does peacock hate animals? It’s named after a bird!

What about you, Readers? Have you watched these shows yet? What do you think?
