Like a lot of other girls that I know, I want to give pretty much every dog and cat I meet a home.
But since I don’t have the money, space or time to adopt them all, I try to give a little extra money every once in a while to animal rescue organizations.
On Wednesday, you can get in your charitable giving and spend some time with some adorable dogs at PAWS of Austin‘s Party on the Patio at Phara’s Restaurant. From 6 p.m. to midnight, stop by for some Mediterranean nosh and live music, bid on the silent auction, check out some belly dancing and make new four-legged friends. And, best of all, the event is BYOB, so you can bring some Lone Star tallboys and donate what you would have spent on an imported draft to the dogs.
PAWS (Protection for Animal Welfare Services) of Austin provides refuge to stray and unwanted dogs and works to place them in forever homes. The group, which specializes in Great Danes, also aims to raise public awareness of animal rescue and works in conjunction with other national organizations, like the Humane Society.

If you can’t make it out to Party on the Patio, you can head to the Pluckers Wing Bar on South Lamar the first Tuesday of the month and 20% of your bill will be donated to PAWS.
