For the second year in a row, I’ve failed at my New Year’s Resolutions due to the chaos of spring.

While last year it was the new puppy, this year it was earning my drone certification, while teaching my weekly Pilates class, going on six weekend trips (including Houston for the Museum of Natural Science, Dallas for Medieval Times, Burnet for a wiener dog race, and Temple for an air show), being busy at work and training to run the Cap10 (a 10K with lots of hills in downtown Austin),

I also sang two covers at a big work event, yet out of my four New Year’s Resolutions, I accomplished none. So my plan to go seasonal with my resolutions (after failing at one per month the year before) also failed.

Maybe next year I really should stick to one and embrace vagueness. Maybe I was wrong about specificy being the key to a good resolution. Maybe the vaguer the better. Maybe next year, I should just make a resolution to “accomplish something,” because I'm bound to.

What about you, Readers? How are you doing with your resolutions? (Better than me, I hope.)
