What is a Chickster crush you ask? Well, in the context we’re presenting it, it’s just a little infatuation with a celebrity, guy or girl, local or national, whose talent and charm we just can’t get enough of at the moment.
I just finished watching season 1 of Veronica Mars (I know, where have I been? Best season of a show ever, aside from Buffy, season 6) and have decided that I have a Chickster crush on Amanda Seyfried, who plays Veronica’s wild, beautiful and murdered best friend Lily. I first noticed Seyfried in Mean Girls where she played the extremely intelligence-challenged Karen Smith with ease. I heard she was originally up for the part of Regina George in that movie—Rachel McAdams’ break-out role. I adore McAdams, but can’t help but wonder, after seeing Seyfried’s amazing portrayal of Lily in Veronica Mars, what Seyfried playing Regina George would have looked like.
What I like most about Seyfried is her versatility, (she’s able to portray very different characters in Mean Girls, Mamma Mia! and Mars, for instance) and the non-apologetic sensuality she brings to her roles.
